Chaparral

Most of Los Angeles is chaparral. There are few trees and a lot of grass which is dry. It is warm most of the time but it does rain every now and then. There are mountains that are mostly chaparral.

Tundras

In tundras it is cold all year. The ground is always covered in snow. Animals that are in tundras are polar bears, penguins, and foxes. The ground is completely covered in snow so there are no plants. The tundra is th coldest biome of all of biomes.

Prairies

Prairies is the other category for grasslands.They havecold winters and hot summers. Most parts of prairies are all grass. The land is all flat in prairies.

Savana

Savanas are one of the two categories of grasslands. They are south of the equator. They get a lot of rain and are really hot during the summer. So the plants get real dry during the summer. Most parts of savanas have a lot of grass.

Deserts

Deserts are really hot and dry. They are known to be arid. Some deserts are really hot during the day and cold during the night. The Arctic deserts are the coldest of all types. Cactus store a lot of water inside of themselves.

Rainforests

Rainforests cover about 7% of the earth's surface. But the rainforests are going away because people are cutting down trees and that destroys animals habitats. It is humid and wet in rainforests. There are three layers of rainforests and they are the canopy, understory, and forest floor. It is bad that people are destroying rainforests because rainforests contain 50% of the earth's animals and plant life.

Marine Ecosystem

There are different types of marine zones. There is the abyssal, euphotic, and bathsal. They all have different types of animals. They also have different amounts of sunlight.

Biomes

Here are 3 facts about biomes:
Tropical rainforests have a lot of rain every year and it is really hot and humid there.
Deserts gets very little rainfall and are hot during the day and cold at night.
Arctic tundras are cold during the whole year and are covered in snow.

Weather And Climate

There are five major types of climates. They are tropical, arid, temperate, continental, and polar. Thecoldest climate is the polar climate. Tropical climate is really hot and humid and gets a lot of rain. Southern California has a really warm climate.
